All the Osborne team members were awarded three nationals medals: The General George C. Marshall Leadership Medal, National Guard Civilian Service Medal and the Douglas MacArthur Leadership Medal.
In addition to the competition, teams toured the historical sites in the nation’s capital and had the opportunity to listen to leaders in academia and the military. They also got to hear from and meet the current Miss America, Betty Cantrell.
The team earned the all-expenses paid trip by placing first in the JROTC Southeast Region, which includes Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Island. It’s the ninth time that Osborne High placed first.
