C/1LT ADRIAN GARCIA, CHARLIE COMPANY; 2017 GOVERNOR’S HONOR PROGRAM
Please help me in congratulating junior Adrian Garcia for being selected as a state finalist for the 2017 Governor’s Honors Program. Adrian has been selected to attend a four week program this summer at Berry College in the subject area of engineering and design. Adrian spent the past few months going through several rounds of interviews and applications at the local and state level. He was selected from among thousands of students from across the state.

Thank you for allowing the JROTC cadets to attend our monthly (3rd Thursday) formation yesterday. The formation/assembly allows us to evaluate the cadets’ mastery of the leadership skills taught in the classroom and reward individual and team excellence in academics, leadership, citizenship and selfless service. Just want to share a few of our recognitions:
Congratulated Wendy Rodriquez, Maria Jamie and Maria Vargas for being inducted in the National Honor Society. All are advance leaders in our program. Maria Vargas is also a member of the 2016 Lady Cardinal Raider Regional Champions Raider Team. Maria Jamie is a member of our Academic Team that placed first in the JROTC academic competition and traveled to Washington DC this past summer.
Recognized the Lady Raiders as the 2016 Region Champions. The males placed third. Both teams will be competing in the State Championships October 29th in Griffin.

o Kimberly Castillo. For earning Cardinal of the Month. While serving as a mentor in the attendance office during the recent "Code Yellow" lock down, Kimberly was recognized by the attendance clerk and the principal for doing an outstanding job calming and giving information to the parents that were calling and coming to the school. Kimberly stayed in the office the entire time even missing lunch. She was lauded by Mr. Morreale for showing exceptional leadership. Awarded the Senior Army Military Science Teacher Leadership Award.
